OPEN, PRODUCTIVE DISCUSSIONS WELCOME!
Welcome to my blog. These are blogs that are written for students at Schilz Martial Arts. At the end of each class a ‘Lessons In Mindfulness’, are written and read to students, with the sole intent of refocusing our minds. We just spent a class physically training in Kickboxing. Now we need to refocus our minds. Eliminating stress and improving our life agility is our purpose. These messages are meant to be shared with everyone!

I do not want you to think like me or act like me, this is not the purpose. It is to remind, make you think, and stir up emotions that can get swept under the rug or buried in our everyday chaos. Day 1: Monday – Start of Unhealthy Outlook

This is a great topic for Mondays. 

The majority of heart attacks happen on Mondays. Every one of us has had an anxiety attack at some level and severity. What may seem small to some, are large to others.  They cover many topics from our finances, relationships, work, fear of change, fear of rejection, and fear of being judged. 

One anxiety we have been struggling with is our fear of degrading health. Our recent pandemic has created anxiety in us that will last for years to come. We wear masks and carry hand sanitizer with us everywhere we go, and we think that social distancing is expected and needed. 

Why do we have such anxieties? Social media has added to our frenzy – they are capitalizing on bad news, and we expect them to do that, and we are the only ones paying the price: paranoia, stress, worrying, and a broken immune system. 

But everyone here knows the value of working out, this is our best defense against our fears and stress, changes in our chemical makeup, and building a better immune system. Physical exertion It is our best defense against our anxieties.
