OPEN, PRODUCTIVE DISCUSSIONS WELCOME!
Welcome to my blog. These are blogs that are written for students at Schilz Martial Arts. At the end of each class a ‘Lessons In Mindfulness’, are written and read to students, with the sole intent of refocusing our minds. We just spent a class physically training in Kickboxing. Now we need to refocus our minds. Eliminating stress and improving our life agility is our purpose. These messages are meant to be shared with everyone!

These blogs are not meant to give anyone answers. These comments and responses are answers, based on my upbringing, my educational background, and my preferences. I do not want you to think like me or act like me, this is not the purpose. It is to remind, make you think, and stir up emotions that can get swept under the rug or buried in our everyday chaos. Day 2: Instead No Challenge, No Change

No pain, no gain, simply says that there has to be pain in order to grow.  How often do we avoid pain?  Things that make us hurt and cringe.  If we thought someone was about to stab us with a knife, would we pull back?  Of course, but using the no pain, no gain, we should stand there and allow the knife to pierce our skin, and then wait for the benefit to be inherited through our sacrifice.

What if we said no challenge, no change?  The education, whether it is formal or informal, our continued growth comes from a challenge.  Challenge our mind, challenge our body.  When we put the effort into our growth.  This means we need to live with intent and find a challenge.  One that will provoke the way we think, provoke thinking, and the way we lead.  Leadership is a big part of a challenge.  Your first student is yourself.  You will need to lead yourself to a place you wouldn’t normally go. Involuntarily you are leading people around you who are watching you and learning from your successes and failures.

 Never allow pain to be your goal, but the challenge!
