Hello everyone!
It's Kevin, Master Instructor and Owner of Schilz Martial Arts.
I provide a full service of classes ranging from smaller kids(4-7, Little Dragons program), juniors (8-13 – Juniors program), and Adult classes which include Krav Maga/Muay Thai, Cardio Kickboxing, and Boot Camp/Fitness workouts.
My vision is to make a difference in peoples’ lives through my commitment to excellence in my teachings and those who instruct for me. To teach students of all ages how to defend themselves and provide them with the confidence that takes them from the victim mentally to a Victor's attitude. To provide a safe environment from which all students can participate, learn, grow, and become empowered with themselves beyond what they know in a safe and nurturing environment and give students of all ages a variety of martial arts and Fitness.
I have been a Colorado resident since 1983 and worked in corporate America for more than 25 years. I have earned several degrees from Regis University, including my MBA. After enrolling my son at Trans Martial Arts, I decided to join Tran’s as a student myself. Being a student for approximately two years, I decided to quit my corporate job, start teaching martial arts full-time in Longmont for several years and eventually open a school of my own in 2007 in Lafayette, Colorado.
I constantly train and study martial arts; being a student is just as important as being an instructor. I work from the belief that life should be continuously improved and developed. This is also something shared by all those people who instruct with me. We at Schilz Martial Arts build strong relationships with our students and parents. This is an environment that nurtures growth and helps you with insecurities in a constructive manner. My core values drive the way we conduct our behavior with every person that we meet! All those who teach with me share the same values and want nothing but the best for all who become students.
I have earned several black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai. I am currently training in Krav Maga, Silat, Jeet Kune Do, and other Philippine Martial Arts. I also have trained in Judo, Shotokan, Tai-Chi, and other hand-to-hand martial arts. I enjoy practicing all martial arts knowing that every martial arts has a purpose, but it is the instructor that gives purpose, direction and meaning to the art.
I work alongside a variety of instructors and coaches to serve our community through fitness, health, and wellness, both physically and mentally. Our offerings enable students to find something that fits their needs and their lifestyle. We have a wide range of programs ranging from Martial Arts, Fitness, and self-defense classes to fitness classes. There is something for everyone. We want you to feel welcome in our community and hope you will take your first step to meet us on the mat.
We hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Kevin Schilz
