Mr. Schilz
Master Instructor/Owner My vision is to make a difference in people’s lives through my commitment to excellence in my teachings. To teach students of all ages how to defend themselves, and provide them with the confidence that takes them from the victim mentally to a Victors attitude. I constantly train and study martial artist, being a student is just as important as being an instructor. I work from the belief that life should be constantly improved and developed. I build strong relationships with my students and parents. My core values drive the way I conduct my behavior with every person that I meet! I have been a Colorado resident since 1983. Working in corporate America for more than 25 years. I have earned several degrees from Regis University. Continuous education is very important to me, just recently in 2019, I finished my Master degree, at Regis, while instructing and teaching, doing both full-time. My start as a school owner began after enrolling my son at Trans Martial Arts, I decided to join Tran’s as a student myself. Being a student for approximately 2 years, I decided to quit my corporate job, and start teaching martial arts full-time in Longmont, and eventually opened a school of my own in 2007 in Lafayette Colorado. I have earned several black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai. I am currently training in Krav Maga, and always refreshing what I know in Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai. I also have trained in Judo and Shotokan karate for several years. I enjoy practicing all martial arts knowing that every one has a purpose, but it is the instructor that gives purpose, direction, and meaning to the art. One of my passions is bringing what I know to the improved lives of women who have been subjected to domestic violence. I offer free training classes to all women! |
Theresa Pelser
My name is Theresa Pelser. I discovered kickboxing in 2016 when my second eldest son invited me to join him at Schilz Martial Arts for 'buddy week'. I decided to jump in with both feet and began my Black Belt journey before the week was up. In 2019, I achieved my goal and received a Black Belt in Muay Thai. It was a challenging experience that required discipline, perseverance, and dedication. To this day, I continue to participate in the adult kickboxing classes because I enjoy the workout and the community. As the mother of four boys (one teen and three twenty-somethings), I'm comfortable working with students of all ages. I'm a patient and diligent instructor who loves to encourage my students to push beyond their comfort zones and achieve their goals. I also teach monthly self-defense workshops for women that are focused on empowering them to feel confident and capable in any situation. I believe that martial arts is not just about physical fitness, but also about personal growth and development. As an instructor at Schilz Martial Arts, I enjoy seeing my students improve their skills, gain confidence, and develop a sense of discipline that carries over into their daily lives. I'm grateful to be part of such a supportive and encouraging community, and I look forward to continuing my journey as a martial artist and instructor. |
Logan Pelser “Mr. Pelser”
Tae Kwon Do Instructor My name is Logan Pelser, and I've been training at Mr. Schilz Martial Arts since 2016. I earned my Black Belt in December 2021, and the journey towards it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Throughout the years, I've made great friends, gained confidence, and improved myself in so many ways. Now, I'm teaching Tae Kwon Do as a way to help fellow students on their own journey towards their Black Belt. The best part about teaching is being able to help other students with whatever they need to improve, whether that's in their martial arts skills or building their confidence. I believe that learning martial arts should be a fun experience and I strive to offer students an enjoyable and supportive environment. Logan Pelser |
Isla Brady
My name is Isla Brady, I’ve been training at Schilz Martial Arts for 3 ½ years, and I am currently a ‘High Blue’ belt. I enjoy teaching Tae Kwon Do to others is the ability to share what I have already learned, helping lower belts grow and expand their knowledge. It is very rewarding seeing them learn confidence as they learn to defend themselves. It is very rewarding teaching and having fun with my students as they grow and I see them wanting to learn more. I have a lot to offer students as I teach from the knowledge I have already learned. I am humbled being someone that younger students look up to and want to learn from. Isla Brady |
Elinor Picnic
My name is Elinor Picnic, “Ms. Picnic”, I like teaching the Little Dragons because they make me smile on bad days and good days. Teaching the Little Dragons gives me more responsibility, giving back to students younger than me. I love teaching younger students how to be more confident, and us their voices. I enjoy helping the Little Dragons learn how to stand up to bullies for themselves and others. It is also important that Little Dragons know to avoid strangers so that they stay safe. |
Avery Brady
My name is Avery Brady, “Ms. Brady”. When I first started Tae-kwon-do, I had role models that I looked up to, older students, who were such a big help to me. I like doing the same and be that role model for the younger students. I like being able to share my knowledge with other students, helping them to grow stronger. I am someone who students can come to, and feel comfortable asking questions, and they enjoy learning from, to become better martial artists. Avery Brady |
